Hancock County will soon have some additional snow plows on the road.
The commissioners authorized the Hancock County Engineer’s Office to purchase the new equipment at today’s meeting
A 2014 International dump truck is being purchased from Rush Truck Center, Findlay, through the state’s cooperative purchasing agreement. The county will pay $103,406 for the truck, using money from the motor vehicle and gasoline tax fund.
The commissioners also agreed to purchase the equipment necessary to outfit two additional trucks for removing snow at a cost of $132,900 from Kalida Truck Equipment, Inc., including a dump body, snow plow with hydraulics, drop spreader and safety lights.
Separately, the commissioners also agreed to the purchase of two 2014 Toyota Sienna vans for $48,500 from LaRiche Toyota Subaru, Findlay. The seven-passenger vans will be used primarily to transport county veterans to doctor appointments.
