The bar has been set another notch higher for future United Way of Hancock County campaigns, with this yearâ€™s effort breakingÂ another record, finishing at $3,020,497.
An additional $95,000 was raised for United Wayâ€™s Halt Hunger initiative, bringing the total amount raised during the 2013 campaign to $3,115,497.
As in years past, the goal had been to exceed the previous yearâ€™s effort. Last yearâ€™s campaign raised $2.8 million.
Gene Stevens, this yearâ€™s campaign chairman, announced the results at a celebration Tuesday at the Findlay Country Club.
