Hanco EMS will open a second station in May on the northeast side of Findlay.
The company announced today that renovations are underway at 1155 Croy Drive.
“Having a station on the north side of the Blanchard River ensures we have strategically located vehicles and resources to meet our communities’ needs,” said Rob Martin, chief of Hanco EMS. “This location will be fully staffed 24-hours a day, seven days a week just like the Sixth Street location.”
Martin said calls will be distributed between the two stations based on proximity and availability.
A back-up Hanco unit is also housed at the Liberty Township Fire Department building, 7692 Hancock County 140. The unit provides on-call medical response within Liberty Township on the west side of Findlay, as well as within the city of Findlay and surrounding communities.
Since becoming the sole EMS provider for the city of Findlay in April, Hanco has met the city’s goal response time of 12 minutes or less for 99.9% of calls. The company responds to about 6,000 emergency calls per year.
