Woman sentenced in Putnam County for Medicaid theft

OTTAWA — An Indiana woman must repay thousands of dollars she stole from an Ohio assistance fund.

Kellsey Lyle, 29, of New Haven, Ind., was ordered today in Putnam County Common Pleas Court to repay $69,900 taken through Medicaid eligibility theft.

From September 2009 through May 2012, Lyle stole about $69,800 in state assistance by making false statements to the Putnam County Department of Job and Family Services, according to her indictment.

Judge Randall Basinger sentenced Lyle to three years of probation and 30 days in jail for the fourth-degree felony of theft.
