Findlay man sentenced for December shooting

A Findlay man was sentenced today to 11 years in prison for shooting a city resident during a robbery.

Tyrel L. Jones, 22, pleaded guilty to charges of shooting Christopher A. Ingleston, 19, in the torso at about 1 a.m. Dec. 19 inside 222 Prospect Ave.

Police said Jones believed another resident of the rental property had money and drugs.

Jones apologized in court for his actions. He said intended to scare Ingleston and did not mean to shoot him.

Ingleston was treated for his gunshot wound at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, according to police.

Jones pleaded guilty on Wednesday to a first-degree felony charge of aggravated robbery and a second-degree felony charge of felonious assault with a .40-caliber handgun.

Judge Reginald Routson immediately imposed a joint-sentencing recommendation upon Jones. Routson credited Jones with 56 days served in jail.
