UPDATE: House explodes in Bettsville

A house exploded just before 8:30 a.m. in Bettsville, but no injuries have been reported.

The explosion happened near the intersection of Monroe and Union streets in Bettsville.

Nobody was at the home at the time of the explosion. According to eyewitness reports, the home is fully engulfed and is a total loss.

Bettsville, Kansas, Bascom and Old Fort fire departments are at the scene battling the blaze.

The cause of the explosion is still being determined.
