Wind advisory, flood watch in effect today

All of northwestern Ohio is under a flood watch through Friday morning, with a cold front expected to bring a half-inch to an inch of rain this evening. That rain, combined with recent snow melt and warmer temperatures, may cause flooding along rivers and streams, in basements, and in poorly draining areas. Ice jams may also occur along area rivers, which could cause additional flooding issues.

Additionally, a wind advisory is in effect for northwestern Ohio from 7 p.m. today until 7 p.m. Friday. The same cold front that may bring tonight’s heavy rain and thunderstorms will also bring gusty winds after it passes through the area. Winds of 20 to 35 mph are expected later Thursday evening into Friday, with gusts over 45 mph possible.
