Elida teen to be charged with online threats

ELIDA — A 14-year-old Elida High School student is expected to be charged today with inducing panic after reported online threats.

The girl is accused of posting messages on Twitter suggesting harm toward other students, according to the Allen County Sheriff’s Office.

An investigation suggested she intended to be expelled and no weapons were located, according to the office.

Additional charges will be considered as she remains in the Allen County Juvenile Detention Center. Law enforcement officials did not identify the girl.
