Motorist injured on Interstate 75

The Findlay post of the State Highway Patrol responded to an injury accident at 7:18 p.m. Friday on I-75 near the U.S. 224 exit.

James Ray Shurlow, 54, of Wapakoneta was southbound in a 2010 Ford F-150 pickup when he traveled off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail, the state patrol said. Shurlow was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital by Hanco Ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries, the patrol said.

Alcohol use is suspected in the crash, the patrol said. Shurlow was cited for operating a vehicle while under the influence, and failure to maintain control, the patrol said.

The accident is still under investigation.

The patrol was assisted on scene by the Findlay Fire Department and Mac and Bob’s Towing.
