Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash¬†at 9:27 a.m. today on U.S. 224 east of Hancock County 248 in Biglick Township, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
Rick Aurand, 59, of Findlay, was traveling east on U.S. 224 in a 2003 Honda SUV when he lost control of his vehicle on the icy roadway. Aurand’s SUV went left of center and collided with a westbound 2011 Ford SUV driven by Goldie Ruehle, 60, of McCutchenville.
The collision caused Aurand’s SUV to spin and strike a 2006 Mercury Mountaineer that was parked unattended off the north side of U.S. 224 due to being stuck in a ditch earlier.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash and were transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital by Hanco EMS.
Aurand was cited for failure to maintain control of his vehicle.
Aurand’s vehicle was towed from the scene by Mac & Bob’s Towing, Findlay; Ruehle’s vehicle was towed from the scene by Dick’s Towing, Findlay.
Assisting at the scene was Washington Township Fire Department.
