A Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor told a supportive party crowd Thursday that the latest poll numbers bring good news.
Sharen Neuhardt cited a recent Quinnipiac University poll in the race between Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald and Gov. John Kasich that shows FitzGerald down by about five percentage points.
Not only has that gap narrowed, she said, but 70 percent of those surveyed said they do not know enough about FitzGerald to form an opinion.
“It tells us that there is a huge group of people out there who understand that Kasich is smoke and mirrors,” she said.
Democrats gathered Thursday at the Hancock County Agency on Aging to outline their work for average Ohioans and their concerns for the future.
“If you live the American Dream, you understand what the Democratic principles are all about,” Neuhardt said.
Courier reporter Ryan Dunn will have more in tomorrow’s newspaper.
