Hancock County Fair planning 75th anniversary celebration

The Hancock County Fair Board is planning a celebration this year, marking the fair’s 75th anniversary at the Sandusky Street grounds.

Hancock County Commissioner Phillip Riegle will represent the office on the celebration’s planning committee. Riegle briefly described some of the plans, which could include a parade, at today’s commissioners meeting. His office may also extend a challenge to city officials, like a calf scramble or other competition.

Plans are still in the beginning stages.

Separately, the commissioners agreed to pay the Village of Arlington $29,000 for the cleaning of Buck Run, which is half of the total bill. The creek bed has already been cleared of debris as part of an effort to control flooding in the village.
