The United Way of Hancock County board of directors approved grants to¬†28 programs offered by county social services agencies¬†during¬†its monthly board meeting Thursday.
The grants were funded from the 2013 United Way campaign, which raised $3,020,497.
¬†Volunteer teams reviewed applications from the fields of education, income and health and recommended the distribution of grant funds. The process includes a review of program results while also looking at the most pressing needs of the community.
