United Way distributes 2013 campaign funds

The United Way of Hancock County board of directors approved grants to 28 programs offered by county social services agencies during its monthly board meeting Thursday.

The grants were funded from the 2013 United Way campaign, which raised $3,020,497.

Volunteer teams reviewed applications from the fields of education, income and health and recommended the distribution of grant funds. The process includes a review of program results while also looking at the most pressing needs of the community.

See Saturday’s newspaper for a complete list of funded programs.
