The Blanchard River is expected to reach moderate flood stage of 13.2 feet Friday at Findlay, after rainstorms drenched the region.
About 1.5 inches of rain fell on the Findlay area Thursday, according to measurements taken at the Findlay airport, and more rain was expected overnight and Friday.
The Blanchard River level had climbed to 8.02 feet by 11 p.m. Thursday.
The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for the river, and predicted the river would rise above its 11-foot flood stage Friday morning, and climb to 13.2 feet by Friday night.
The river will fall below flood stage by Saturday afternoon, the weather service said.
“Major” flooding starts at 13.5 feet at Findlay.
More rain was expected overnight and Friday. The weather service said between a tenth-inch and a quarter-inch was possible overnight, followed by another quarter-inch to half-inch today.
In Putnam County, the weather service predicted minor flooding by the Blanchard River at Ottawa and the Auglaize River near Fort Jennings.
