Investigation continues into fight at The Cube

Findlay police today released more information on a fight that seriously injured a city man at The Cube.

Ian Fleck and another spectator of a mixed martial arts event were involved in an argument and fight at about 10:40 p.m. March 29, said Lt. John Dunbar.

Fleck, 30, of Findlay, was treated at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo for head injuries, Dunbar said.

Police arrested the suspect on a first-degree misdemeanor of assault, but did not file the charge because they learned the injuries may warrant a more serious felony, Dunbar said.

Fleck’s wife told WFIN he suffered a stroke from the attack and has since left the hospital.

She did not reply to an interview request from The Courier.

Dunbar said the suspect was released on an own-recognizance bond, which is typical for nearly all misdemeanors.

The case remains under investigation while police obtain medical records and speak to more witnesses. The suspect has been interviewed, Dunbar said.
