Former Bluffton police officer sentenced to prison

LIMA — A former Bluffton auxiliary police officer was ordered to serve four years in prison for sex with a teenage girl.

Andrew Probst, 24, of Bluffton, engaged in sexual conduct with the girl who was between the ages of 13 and 15, said Assistant Prosecutor Terri Kohlrieser.

Kohlrieser said Probst committed the crime from Sept. 1, 2012, to Jan. 20 of this year.

Probst was sentenced to six months in prison for each of the eight counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, all fourth-degree felonies.

Probst did not make a statement in Allen County Common Pleas Court, she said. He was not paid for his work as an officer.
