Gabe’s, which describes itself as a fashion retailer, will open a store this summer at the former Home Depot store, 1981 Tiffin Ave., Gabriel Bros. reported.
Other reports are that more retail stores are on the way. But the owner of the property, Isaac Property Company, of Bryan, has not returned phone calls for more information.
Garlock Bros. Construction has been working at the site, but it has declined to comment for this story.
The building has 94,700 square feet, according to Hancock County records.
“We are excited to join the Findlay community,” said Ken Seipel, chief executive officer for Gabriel Brothers. “We already have a strong presence in Ohio, so we know the market and appreciate the customer quite well. Findlay is a vibrant center that boasts a healthy economy and strong employment base and we are honored to have an opportunity to be a part of that, by expanding the Gabe’s tradition of bringing great styles and famous brands to the community at up to 70 per cent off department store prices. This new location will also allow us to serve customers from the surrounding area and offer access to a broad assortment of quality name brand apparel, accessories and home goods for the entire family – all at an incredible value.”
The new Findlay store is one of four new stores planned to open this July, including a recently announced location in Wilkes-Barre, PA. That will bring Gabe’s total store count to 43, which reflects the addition of 7 new locations since last fall.
