U.S. Rep. Robert Latta, R-Bowling Green, will be the speaker at the First Friday Luncheon, to be hosted by the Hancock County Republican Party on June 6.
The luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at American Legion Post 3, 120 W. Front St. The cost of the buffet lunch is $10. Reservations can be made by calling 419-422-5946 by noon June 5.
Latta represents Ohio’s 5th Congressional District, and is currently serving his fourth term in the U.S. House of Representatives.
He serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has wide jurisdiction on legislative matters, including energy policy, telecommunications, food and drug safety, public health research, and interstate and foreign commerce.
He is the vice chairman of the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology, as well as a member of the subcommittees on energy, power, environment and the economy.
In addition, Latta serves as an assistant majority whip, co-chairman of Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus and co-chair of the Republican New Media Caucus.
Latta lists his top priorities as balancing the budget, reducing the national debt and working toward common sense government reforms.
He is an avid sportsman and a lifelong resident of northwestern Ohio. He and his wife, Marcia, live in Bowling Green, with their two daughters, Elizabeth and Maria.
