Erin Poling has been named executive director of the Children’s Museum of Findlay.
Poling previously served as the event coordinator for the Arts Partnership, and as the adult services director for Blanchard Valley Industries through the Hancock County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
She is a 1997 Graduate of Findlay High School and a 2001 Graduate of Miami University, Oxford. She has worked in the nonprofit sector in Hancock County for the last six years and has a background in event planning and fundraising.
She is active in the community and volunteers for many local organizations. She also serves on the boards for the Hancock Historical Museum and the Hancock Historical Museum Foundation and is a member of the Guiding Circle for Handbags That Help.
Poling joined the Children’s Museum of Findlay in March 2013 as a member of the board of directors and was unanimously voted by the board for the executive director position. She will job shadow at the Boonshoft Springfield Children’s Museum under the guidance its CEO and president.
A temporary museum will open July 11 at the Findlay Village Mall. The organization is still raising funds for a permanent site downtown that is targeted to open in 2016.
