Tornado watch issued for Seneca, Wyandot, Hardin counties until 9 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for most of Ohio — including Seneca, Wyandot and Hardin counties — until 9 p.m. today.

The weather service’s Storm Prediction Center says there is a moderate risk of tornadoes, severe wind gusys and hail 2 inches in diameter or larger today across the watch area.

While Hancock, Allen, Putnam and Wood counties are not in the watch area, areas “in and close to the watch area” could be affected by severe weather.

Tornadoes have already been an issue this week in northeastern Ohio; the weather service confirmed that an EF1 tornado touched down in eastern Lorain County on Monday evening.
