VANLUE — Two teenagers were hurt in a two-car crash Friday night at a rural intersection north of Vanlue.
Kalen Ritter, 16, of Vanlue, the driver of one vehicle, and passenger Chayla Frantz, 15, were injured and taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The sheriff’s office said Ritter was driving a Chevy Blazer west on Hancock County 7 about 6:11 p.m. She stopped at a stop sign at the intersection with Hancock County 330, then pulled into the path of a Chrysler Pacifica that was northbound on County 330, the sheriff’s office said.
The Chrysler, driven by Christina Edwards, 46, of Fostoria, hit the Blazer on the driver’s side, causing it to flip onto its side, the sheriff’s office said. Edwards refused treatment at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.
Both vehicles were heavily damaged and were towed.
Assisting at the accident scene were Washington Township and Vanlue fire departments, Hanco Ambulance, Dick’s Towing and R&A Towing.
