Horstman named Ottawa-Glandorf superintendent

The Ottawa-Glandorf school board today hired Don Horstman to be the district’s new superintendent.

Horstman is currently the superintendent of Kalida Local Schools. He will start his new job Aug. 1, and was given a three-year contract.

Kevin Brinkman, the Ottawa-Glandorf superintendent since 2004, is retiring July 31.

Horstman is a 1988 graduate of Ottawa-Glandorf High School.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in social studies education from Ohio State University in 1995, and a master’s degree in education from the University of Findlay in 2001.  He taught social studies at Greenville Junior High in Greenville, Ohio, and at Bath Middle School in Lima. Horstman  then was the assistant principal at Glenwood Middle School in Findlay, and the high school principal at Kalida before being named its superintendent in 2008.
