Motorcyclist killed, Cygnet woman hurt in crash

PIONEER — A motorcyclist from West Unity was killed and his passenger, a Cygnet woman, was injured Sunday in a three-vehicle crash at Pioneer in Williams County.
Craig W. Parliament, 66, of West Unity, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 6:21 p.m. crash at the intersection of U.S. 20 and Ohio 15, the Defiance post of the State Highway Patrol reported.
Connie J. Shope, 35, of Cygnet, a passenger on the motorcycle, was taken by medical helicopter to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, the patrol said.
Parliament was stopped at the intersection when his motorcycle was hit from behind by a pickup truck, the patrol said. The impact pushed the motorcycle into the path of a vehicle on U.S. 20, the patrol said.
The crash remains under investigation.
