Three men wanted in connection to a Wednesday night burglary-turned-homicide were taken into custody Thursday, less than 24 hours after the manhunt began.
Tyson Ogg, 18, Garrett Brown, 17, and Dallas Salaz, 19, were arrested by Fostoria police Thursday afternoon after an in-depth investigation named the men as “persons of interest” in a Wednesday night burglary/shooting at 218 E. Culbertson St. that took the life of a Fostoria woman. The initial call was received at 11:26 p.m.
According to Fostoria Police Chief Keith Loreno, Caleb Barto, 19, and Jannelle Mauricio, 20, were assaulted at the scene. Mauricio, who was transported to ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital by private vehicle, died as a result of her injuries. Loreno said a handgun was used in the homicide and that the weapon has been taken into evidence by Fostoria police.
Both Ogg and Brown are facing charges of aggravated murder, aggravated burglary and felonious assault, Loreno said in a news release. Salaz has been charged with complicity to commit aggravated murder, aggravated burglary and felonious assault.
