John F. Quaid, a vice president for U.S. Steel, has been named vice president and controller of Marathon Petroleum Corp.
He succeeds Michael G. Braddock, who will retire Oct. 1, the company said today.
Quaid graduated from Lehigh University in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers’ audit and assurance practice until 1999, when he joined FastForward Inc., an enterprise marketing software developer and service provider.
He held several positions with U.S. Steel, beginning in February 2002, including one in Serbia. He was last vice president of iron ore, with responsibilities for all mining operations.
Braddock has worked for Marathon for 34 years.
“Mike has been instrumental in managing the change and controls implications of several significant systems implementations since MPC became a stand-alone public company,” said Don Templin, senior vice president and chief financial officer.
“I greatly appreciate Mike’s many years of service and commitment to MPC. I wish Mike and his family well in the coming years.” said Marathon President and CEO Gary R. Heminger.
