Seneca County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of an armed robbery at Bettsville’s Dollar General store this morning.

According to a news release from Seneca County Sheriff William Eckelberry, a lone male suspect allegedly entered the store shortly before 11 a.m., brandishing a handgun and demanding cash.

Eckelberry said the suspect(s) then fled the store on in an unknown direction, with early reports suggesting the suspect(s) were walking west on Ohio 12.

The vehicle possibly linked to the crime is a faded red, 1995 or newer, Chevrolet pickup truck with an extended cab. The vehicle may have gray interior and a bed liner, with clear windows on the extended cab portion, the release states.

The suspect is described as a white male who appeared to be in his 30s and with dark hair, a scruffy beard and a mustache. According to the release, he was wearing blue jeans, a hat, dark sunglasses and a Dale Earnhardt Jr. coat.

Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to contact the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office at 419-447-3456.
