Motorist hits power poles in Mount Cory

MOUNT CORY — A Lima motorist was injured today when her car hit two power poles in Mount Cory.

Lillie Burge, 27, was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital by Hanco Ambulance, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Mount Cory firefighters responded to the single-vehicle crash at 313 N. Main St., near Park Street, at 1:25 p.m. Saturday.

According to the sheriff’s office, Burge was driving a 2012 Chevrolet four-door south on  Main Street when she lost control of the vehicle. It went off the left side of the road, struck two American Electric Power poles and two street signs before coming to a stop, the sheriff’s office said.

The crash remains under investigation.
