Truck veers off I-75, hits Findlay woman

truckhitsgaragewebA Findlay woman riding a lawn mower was injured tonight when she was struck by a tractor-trailer that veered off Interstate 75 and into a yard at 3212 Crosshill Drive. The truck also hit a detached garage.
The incident was reported at 8:45 p.m. , according to the Findlay post of the State Highway Patrol.
The victim was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital, according to rescue workers, and the extent of her injuries was not immediately known.
The Big Lots truck, carrying 30,000 pounds of goods, was traveling northbound when it went off the road. The trailer ended up on its side, while the tractor remained upright.

Neighbors reported hearing a loud “boom.”

The Findlay Fire Department responded, and a firefighter said a “sock” apparatus was deployed to contain fuel spilled from the tractor-trailer.

Northbound traffic on the interstate was reduced to a crawl while emergency workers were at the scene. Authorities said the right lane of the northbound lanes will be shut down while the wreckage is cleared.

The state patrol is handling the investigation, and is still at the scene.

More details will be reported when they become available.
