Eagle Creek Skate Park has been closed indefinitely because of safety concerns voiced at recent city government meetings.
Service-Safety Director Paul Schmelzer, in an email this morning to City Council members, referred to the closure as temporary.
Public Works Superintendent Matt Stoffel “has been looking into repair costs for the next capital year,” said Schmelzer.
Officials acknowledged the 14-year-old park has fallen into disrepair. Relocation has been pitched as an option, but until then, the city will today be locking the park’s gate and posting signs of its closure.
