UPDATED: Findlay man escapes serious injury in accident

McCOMB — A Findlay man escaped serious injury Thursday morning when his vehicle dropped nearly 25 feet into a ditch on Hancock County 5, about six miles northwest of McComb, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Donald Myers, 77, was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital by Hanco Ambulance for treatment of a “possible medical condition,” according to Deputy Tamara House.
Myers was driving a Buick LeSabre west on Hancock County 5, west of Pleasant Township 117, about 10:52 a.m. when the car went off the side of the road “for an unknown reason,” struck a sign post and a small tree, and landed upright in the ditch.
Myers got out of the car and climbed out of the ditch, the sheriff’s office said. He flagged down another vehicle and sought help.
The Buick sustained heavy driver-side damage and was towed by Lowery’s Towing, Findlay.
No citations were issued.
McComb Fire Department assisted at the accident scene.
