Hancock County’s jobless rate increased to 4.5 percent in June from 4 percent a month earlier. Unemployment rates climbed among each of Hancock County’s neighbors and in all but four of Ohio’s 88 counties, the state reported.

Hancock County’s unemployment rate in June 2013 was 7.5 percent, the state reported.

Jobless rates in June 2014 among neighboring counties, with May rates in parentheses, were: Allen, 5.6 percent (5.2 percent); Hardin, 5.9 percent (5.2); Henry, 5.6 (5.1); Putnam, 4.4 (4.1); Seneca, 5.3 (4.6); Wood, 5.4 (5); Wyandot, 4.7 (4.3).
