Riverdale teacher’s resignation expected Monday

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale school board expects to receive the resignation of kindergarten teacher Barbara Williams on Monday evening.

Williams was caught on camera in May shoving and picking her student up by the face.  She is facing a first-degree misdemeanor for child endangerment in Findlay Municipal Court.

Superintendent Eric Hoffman today said he “strongly” believes the board will accept the resignation at its 7 p.m., Monday meeting in the district’s central office board room.

Williams’ resignation is listed as on the board’s agenda to be effective immediately once the board approves it.

“We’re getting ready to start the school year and now we’ll be able to hire somebody new,” Hoffman said. “It’s time to move forward.”
