FOSTORIA — Five people were injured when a pickup truck rear-ended another pickup Friday night on Ohio 613, just west of Fostoria.
Katherine Elsea, 26, of Findlay, the driver of one truck, and her passenger, Leanna Spaeth, 26, of Arlington, were taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Eric Aller, 32, of Tiffin, the driver of the second truck, and two unnamed passengers, ages 7 and 8, were taken to Fostoria Community Hospital, the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office said Aller was driving a Ford F-150 east on Ohio 613, near Washington Township 261, at 7:26 p.m. when he ran into the rear of a Chevy Silverado driven by Elsea, who was turning into a private drive. Elsea’s truck overturned and went off the side of the road, the sheriff’s office said. Aller’s truck stayed on the road.
Both trucks were heavily damaged and were towed.
Aller was cited for an assured clear distance ahead violation, the sheriff’s office said.
Assisting at the accident scene were the Washington Township Fire Department, Hanco and Fostoria emergency medical services, and Reinhart’s Towing.
