UPDATE: 1 killed in U.S. 6 accident west of Bowling Green

The Wood County Sheriff’s Department confirms that one person was killed this morning after an ethanol truck collided with a vehicle at U.S. 6 and Potter Road, near the Bowling Green Wind Farm.

A Nissan Rogue, driven by Charlotte Stock, 65, of Weston, was traveling northbound on Potter Road at 8:55 a.m. when it failed to yield the right of way to a Freightliner tanker, driven by Douglas Brion, 41, of Alliance, at the U.S. 6 intersection.

Stock’s vehicle was hit by the tanker. Stock was pronounced dead at the scene; Brion was treated for injuries at the scene of the accident.

The accident remains under investigation by the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.

Assisting were Weston Fire, Mid County 120 EMS and Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center Life Flight.
