Key suspect in Fostoria arson to stand trial this October

Shey L. Weiker, the key suspect in a Fostoria arson fire that killed two people, will stand trial for her alleged crimes in October, according to the Review-Times.

Weiker, 31, of 151 Taft Blvd., Fostoria, entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity June 18 to charges of aggravated arson, a first-degree felony; aggravated murder, a special felony; murder, a special felony; and attempted murder, a first-degree felony.

During a hearing this morning, Seneca County Common Pleas Judge Michael Kelbley ruled that Weiker was competent to stand trial. Her trial is set for Oct. 14, a court representative said.

She, along with Charles V. Schaeffer, 44, 151 Taft Blvd., and Timothy D. Hall, 20, 126 Findlay St., were indicted in June on charges stemming from a May 26 blaze that took the lives of Daniel Marker Jr., 48, and Tara Lynn Vance, 44, and injured Dana Weatherall, 49, at 614 S. Poplar St.
