Coroner: Russo died from multiple blunt trauma in car crash

Prominent Hancock County attorney Ralph Russo died last month from multiple blunt trauma sustained in a car crash, a coroner’s report has found.

The Erie County Coroner’s Office on Friday cited only injuries from the July 9 crash on U.S. 6 in its cause of death ruling.

Russo, 63, was driving his 2007 Lexus sport utility vehicle when he crossed the center line and crashed into two trees, according to the State Highway Patrol.

Russo was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the State Highway Patrol.

His wife, attorney Nancy Moody-Russo, was critically injured. Both were wearing seat belts, troopers said.

Russo was a partner in the Findlay law firm of Betts, Miller & Russo. He served as counsel for the Findlay Publishing Co.
