City Mission in Findlay and Tiffin University are among 226 charities and organizations in Ohio that will be receiving remaining funds Thursday as part of The Honor Project, according to a press release.
The Honor Project is a trust emanating from litigation pursued by the Ohio Attorney General Office in State of Ohio, et al. v. American International Group, Inc., et al. After all of the defendants’ claims had been settled, nearly $11 million in excess funds remained.
The attorney general’s office then asked presiding Judge John Russo to distribute the remaining funds under the court’s equitable powers.
So far, more than $5 million in funds have been distributed, and the remainder will be distributed during a ceremony at 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Global Center For Health Innovation in Cleveland.
