Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.’s Tom Lause, controller for global operations, has been named treasurer of the company.
He was elected by the board of directors. In addition to the treasurer role, Lause will also assume responsibility for the tax function at Cooper. As he takes on these new responsibilities, Lause will continue in his controller role until a successor is appointed by the company.

Lause joined Cooper in 1983 and served in a variety of accounting and planning roles until 1987 when he was appointed senior budget analyst. In 1988, Lause became controller of Cooper’s Texarkana, Arkansas plant. Two years later, he was named administrative manager for the company, a position he held for nearly a decade.
Lause became director of finance for Cooper-Avon Tyres in 1999, and three years later was named vice president, tire group controller. He was appointed to his current position, controller—global operations, in 2002.
Lause earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s of business administration degree from Bowling Green State University.
