Twenty five trucking jobs will be coming to Findlay soon, and possibly 75 within a year, as Penske Logistics sets up operations on Findlay’s northern end.
A $1.5 million, 9,775-square-foot building, to be on the east side of Distribution Drive just north of Hancock County 212, will be built this fall and completed in early 2016, said Tim Mayle, assistant director of Findlay-Hancock County Economic Development. The building will be built by Ohio Logistics, which is across the street at 12560 Distribution Drive.
The Penske trucking jobs will pay $60,000 to $70,000 per year on average, a 401(k) and a $3,000 signing bonus. Performance bonuses also will be offered.
“They would like to hire (the first 25 workers) as soon as possible,” Mayle said.
A job fair to review candidates will be held Aug. 20 in a tent outside Job Solutions, on Hancock County 140.
Penske Logistics, in Findlay, will be hauling freight for the aluminum manufacturing industry in the Midwest.
Separately, the Hancock County commissioners on Thursday awarded a $686,317 contract to JDR Excavating to straighten the curve at the southern end of Distribution Drive.
