Tim Bechtol, an architect with Peterman Associates, has been selected by the Hancock County Republican Central Committee to serve the remainder of Phil Riegle’s county commissioner term.
Two years remain on the term. Riegle, a Republican, is now county prosecutor.
The eight other candidates were:
–KC Allen Coe, a radio personality and small business owner.
–Jim Gosche, a township trustee in Marion Township.
–Nate Vandenbroek, a small business owner.
–Findlay Councilwoman Holly Frische.
–Bill Johns, a former police officer.
–Findlay Councilman John Harrington.
–Former Findlay Councilman Bob Nichols.
–Findlay Councilman Tom Shindledecker.
William Bateson, who ran unsuccessfully for commissioner earlier this month, was nominated from the floor, but was not accepted as a candidate.
