Water service is slowly being restored in the city of Kenton, after a major water main break today, the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office reports.
The Kenton-Hardin Health Department is advising all restaurants and residents in Kenton’s municipal water district to use bottled water for cooking and sanitation purposes, until further notice.
The health department is warning people to not consume municipal water at this time.
Municipal water can be used for bathing and restrooms, the department says.
The water main break occurred just off of South Detroit Street near the water plant, the Kenton Times reports.
