The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Hancock County until 6:30 p.m.
A severe thunderstorm was reported near Ottawa, moving east at 35 mph. Wind gusts of up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail are possible with this storm.
A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for northwestern Ohio until 8 p.m. today.
Storms have begun forming in Indiana, and will intensify this afternoon and evening as they move east into Ohio ahead of a cold front.
Damaging winds of up to 70 mph and hail of up to 1 1/2 inches in diameter are the likely hazards with any severe thunderstorm; tornadoes cannot be ruled out, but there is a low likelihood of them from storms in the area.
