FOSTORIA — A Fostoria man was injured in a two-vehicle accident this afternoon in Washington Township west of Fostoria.
According to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Willy Martin, of Fostoria, was southbound on Township Road 261 around 1:30 p.m. when he drove through a stop sign at the Township Road 218 intersection and was struck by a tractor-trailer rig driven by Walter Theisen, which was eastbound. Following impact, Martin’s car was pushed off the roadway where it struck an electric pole and hit the side of a house at 2011 Township Road 261.
Martin was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital with minor injuries. The sheriff’s office investigation is continuing, but Martin is expected to be cited by the sheriff’s office for failure to stop at a stop sign.
