Train derails in eastern Seneca County

A Norfolk Southern train has derailed in eastern Seneca County, east of Republic, according to media reports.

WTOL-TV said that the train, headed for Chicago, derailed around 10:45 p.m. Monday near Township Road 122, with nine cars jumping the tracks. Dozens of shipping containers were seen piled on top of each other after the derailment.

No injuries were reported and Township Road 122 is not closed, according to reports.
