An early morning fire destroyed a home on Ohio 634, north of Continental, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
At 3:59 a.m., the sheriff’s office received a 911 call reporting a house fire at 3734 Ohio 634, with the caller saying that everyone was out of the home.
The Continental Fire Department responded to the scene and reported visible flames upon arrival. Firefighters later extinguished the fire but remained on scene as of 7:30 a.m. Ohio 634 was closed between Ohio 15 and County Road D for part of the morning due to the fire.
One firefighter was treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation.
The home is considered a total loss, the sheriff’s office said, and the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
Assisting at the scene were the Ayersville, Oakwood and Miller City fire departments; Putnam County EMS; Putnam County Chapter of the American Red Cross; and Paulding Putnam Electric Co-Op.
