Men involved in Valfilm accident identified

The two men involved in Tuesday’s Valfilm factory accident have been identified.

Andrew T. Hohman, 41, of Findlay,  was killed when William L. Saunders, 47 of Risingsun, backed down a loading dock at the factory at 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday. Hohman was on the ground, working on a hydraulic mechanism for a loading dock. Hohman was pinned between the truck and the loading dock.

The Valfim factory is located at 3441 N. Main St.

Hancock County Coroner Dr. Mark Fox has ordered an autopsy for the man and the incident remains under investigation.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been contacted and will investigate, according to police.

The agency has already fined Valfim $19,956 for safety violations related to the partial amputation of three fingers on an employee’s hand, which occurred in March.

Valfilm makes films for food packaging, automotive and construction. It employs 132 in Findlay.
