The Findlay Light Opera Company Series presented by Fifth Third Bank at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts will kick off the first of four cabarets Friday, Sept. 21, with “A Song in My Heart: A Celebration of the Findlay Light Opera Company.”
The one-night only event begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Marathon Center’s Roy and Marcia Armes Hall, 200 W. Main Cross St.
Tickets cost $15 to $25 and can be purchased at the Marathon Center box office from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays or online at www.marathoncenterarts.org
The company has begun a partnership with the Marathon Center, “returning home” to what was formerly known as Central Auditorium after a hiatus of a few years.
The company was founded in 1988 by a group of community members dedicated to expanding the performing arts in Findlay. This cabaret will feature some of the company’s most beloved songs from its 30-year musical theater history, with a cast of singers ranging in age from 8 to 89 as a representative showcase of community talent.
The production’s creative staff includes director Kathy Newell; Sharon Vaas and Zach Thomas are accompanists; and Devon King is stage manager.
