The Kiwanis Club of Findlay’s “quarter mile” fundraiser generated $997.50. This fell short of the goal of $16,500 but the fundraiser was “a good experience,” said Rick Kidwell, lieutenant governor for Division 1-S of Kiwanis.
The fundraiser aimed to collect enough quarters so that, set edge to edge, they would stretch one mile. The quarters collected measured about 105 yards, Kidwell said.
Kiwanis held the fundraiser Friday and Saturday at the Findlay Village Mall.
“The goal was pretty lofty and not knowing what to expect we are pretty pleased with the result,” Kidwell said.
