UPPER SANDUSKY — The American Red Cross of Wyandot County will host its second annual “Boots and Badges: A Rockin’ Party for the Red Cross,” a celebration of local first responders, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. March 1 at the Sycamore Community Center, 3894 Ohio 103.
During the event, the Red Cross will present the First Responder of the Year award to Scott Blair, an advanced emergency medical technician with the Carey Emergency Medical Services.
The First Responder of the Year Award is presented annually to a local firefighter, law enforcement officer or emergency medical responder for significant contribution to local first response delivery.
Blair was nominated for the award by his daughter, McKenzie, who cited her father’s dedication and commitment to providing emergency medical services to the community.
Entertainment for the evening will be provided by the “T” and Rich Dueling Piano Show. A buffet dinner will be served and there will be a silent auction, balloon burst and other games.
Tickets are $20 and available at the American Red Cross of Wyandot County office, Commercial Savings Bank in Upper Sandusky and Carey, and First Citizen’s Bank in Upper Sandusky. Tickets are also available online at redcross.org/bootsnbadges2014.
All proceeds will support Red Cross services in Wyandot County.
