OTTAWA — The Putnam County Cancer Assistance Program will hold its annual auction and dance benefit April 12 at the Ottawa Knights of Columbus hall.
The doors will open at 5 p.m., with the auction at 6 p.m. The dance will be held from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Admission is $5. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. The event will also include a 50/50 drawing, raffle items and a silent auction of baked goods.
The Putnam County Cancer Assistance Program was established in 2004 to help residents of Putnam County who are dealing with the financial burdens of battling cancer. The program started out helping cancer patients with mileage to and from treatments and doctor’s appointments and is now able to help patients with prescriptions, medical supplies and supplements, wigs and co-pays that are not covered by insurance. In 2013, the program helped 80 cancer patients in Putnam County and paid out over $96,000.
The auction and dance benefit is the organization’s largest fundraiser.
